Principal Duties And
Responsibilities:
Clinical Management:
-
Manages
the clinical practice of the unit according to
established standards of care and Hospital policies and
procedures. Maintains staffing patterns and assumes
responsibility for scheduling.

Performs duties of staff nurse as needed. Maintains
equipment. Communication/Collaboration

Meets
with Manager and staff on a regular basis to ensure
effective communication.

Provides feedback to employees.
-
Identifies, recommends, and facilitates areas for
continuous improvement.

Acts as
a liaison with other healthcare professionals, patients,
and visitors.

Responds to complaints in a timely manner and follows
through to resolution.

Resolves conflicts affecting the unit.

Interprets and communicates departmental, nursing, and
Hospital policies and procedures.
Educational/Resources:
-
Mentors
staff and ensures competencies and educational needs are
met.

Contributes to the development of other health team
members.

Participates on committees.
-
Keeps
current and informs staff of changes, issues, and events
within the Hospital.

Ensures
that staff members attend inservices and other
educational programs needed.
Fiscal:
-
Adheres
to departmental budget.
-
Monitors utilization and ordering of supplies and
equipment.

Assumes
responsibility for payroll as needed.

Human Resources: Interviews, evaluates, counsels, and
disciplines staff in conjunction with the Nurse Manager.

Qualified candidates must possess a valid Massachusetts
RN license, BSN degree preferred, experience working as
a Clinical Coordinator or permanent charge nurse.
Emergency Department experience strongly preferred.
